Make quick, crispy Cajun shrimp skewers in your air fryer. This recipe delivers bold flavor and a satisfying texture without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning blend (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 8 wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, and garlic powder until the shrimp are evenly coated.
  3. Thread 4 to 5 seasoned shrimp onto each skewer.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and slightly crispy on the edges.
  7. While the shrimp cooks, combine the melted butter and lemon juice in a small bowl.
  8. Once cooked, immediately brush the lemon butter mixture over the hot shrimp skewers.
  9. Serve the crispy Cajun shrimp skewers right away.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray just before placing them in the air fryer.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; this allows hot air to circulate properly for crisping.
  • Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on the salt content and spice level of your specific blend.
