Make halloumi cheese crispy like french fries using your air fryer. This recipe delivers a crunchy exterior and a soft interior, perfect for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese block
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil spray
  • For Dipping Sauce: 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the halloumi block lengthwise into sticks about 1/2 inch thick. Pat the sticks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Lightly dredge each halloumi stick in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Arrange the halloumi sticks in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  6. Lightly spray the tops of the halloumi sticks with the oil spray.
  7. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the sticks halfway through the cooking time, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve immediately with the sweet chili sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Drying the cheese well before coating helps achieve maximum crispiness.
  • For extra crunch, you can substitute the flour coating with panko breadcrumbs.
  • If you prefer a different dip, try mixing plain Greek yogurt with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
