Ingredients
Scale
1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon oil (avocado or vegetable)
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 teaspoon sesame oil (for finishing)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with oil. Place the coated cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary.
Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 10 minutes.
Shake the basket well, then continue to air fry for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy.
While the cauliflower finishes cooking, heat the teriyaki sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until it simmers and thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
Remove the crispy cauliflower from the air fryer and immediately place it in a clean bowl. Drizzle with the warm teriyaki sauce and toss gently to coat completely.
Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the coated florets with oil before the first air fry cycle.
If your teriyaki sauce is very thick, thin it slightly with a teaspoon of water before heating.
Adjust the air fryer time based on your machine and the size of your cauliflower pieces.
