Make crispy seasoned ground turkey quickly in your air fryer for flavorful taco bowls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean or higher)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Cooked rice or lettuce for base
  • Your choice of toppings (cheese, salsa, avocado, sour cream)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey with olive oil and all the spices: chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until the seasoning coats the meat evenly.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  3. Place the seasoned ground turkey into the air fryer basket. Break the meat up slightly with a spatula.
  4. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  5. Remove the basket and use a spatula to break the meat into smaller crumbles. Stir the meat to expose all sides.
  6. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the turkey is fully cooked and some edges are starting to look crispy.
  7. Drain any excess liquid from the basket. Stir in the 1/4 cup of water to keep the meat moist while retaining crispness. Cook for 1 more minute.
  8. Assemble your taco bowls by placing a base of rice or lettuce in each bowl. Top with the crispy turkey and your desired toppings.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spread the seasoned turkey in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
  • If you prefer smaller crumbles, cook the turkey in a skillet first, drain fat, then transfer to the air fryer for crisping.
  • This turkey is excellent for meal prepping; store the cooked meat separately from the fresh toppings.
