Make this simple, layered trifle featuring a no-bake Baileys cheesecake filling, chocolate cake pieces, and a creamy topping. It is perfect for parties or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream liqueur
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (about 10 ounces) chocolate pound cake or brownies, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup extra Baileys Irish Cream liqueur (for soaking cake)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup or ganache
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup Baileys in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Fold in the thawed whipped topping until just combined. This is your cheesecake filling.
  3. Place the chocolate cake cubes in a single layer in the bottom of a large trifle bowl or in individual serving glasses. Drizzle the cake pieces evenly with the remaining 1/2 cup of Baileys. Let the cake absorb the liquid for 5 minutes.
  4. Spoon half of the cheesecake filling over the soaked cake layer. Drizzle lightly with chocolate syrup.
  5. Add the remaining cake cubes on top of the first filling layer, and drizzle with a little more chocolate syrup.
  6. Top with the remaining cheesecake filling, spreading it evenly.
  7. Chill the trifle for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set.
  8. Before serving, drizzle the top with the remaining chocolate syrup and sprinkle generously with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • You can substitute store-bought chocolate cake or brownies for homemade cake cubes to save time.
  • For a firmer texture, chill the trifle for a longer period.
  • If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the Baileys with strong brewed coffee in the cheesecake filling.
