A quick and easy recipe for baking tilapia fillets with lemon, garlic, and herbs for a moist and flavorful result.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 oz) tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, and oregano.
  4. Brush the oil mixture evenly over the top of each tilapia fillet.
  5. Season each fillet with salt and pepper.
  6. Place two thin lemon slices on top of each fillet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To keep the fish moist, do not overbake. Check for doneness at 12 minutes.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a small pat of butter on top of each fillet before baking.
  • Use fresh lemon juice over the cooked fish for brighter flavor.
