Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 bottle (12 ounces) beer
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Slider buns
  • Optional toppings: grilled pineapple, coleslaw

Instructions

  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Place the pork in a slow cooker.
  3. Pour the beer, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and soy sauce over the pork.
  4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
  5. Shred the pork with two forks directly in the slow cooker, mixing it with the braising liquid.
  6. Serve the pulled pork on slider buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of liquid smoke to the braising liquid.
  • If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can braise the pork in a Dutch oven in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 3-4 hours.
  • Leftover pulled pork can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
