  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour the melted butter and caramel sauce over the apples and toss gently to coat.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into a 10-inch oven-safe skillet.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Cut in the cold butter pieces using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apple mixture in the skillet.
  8. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce.
