Ingredients
Scale
2 cups fresh seedless watermelon, cubed
4 oz tequila
2 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
1 oz agave nectar (optional, adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Chili salt for rimming glasses
Watermelon wedge or lime wheel for garnish
Instructions
Prepare your glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip the rim into chili salt spread on a plate.
Blend the watermelon: In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon and blend until smooth. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding solids.
Make the margaritas: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (if using).
Add watermelon juice to the shaker.
Shake well until chilled.
Pour the mixture into the prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
Garnish with a watermelon wedge or lime wheel.
Notes
For extra spice, add a slice of jalapeƱo to the shaker before shaking.
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less agave nectar.
If you don’t have fresh watermelon, unsweetened watermelon juice can be used, but fresh is best for flavor.
