Make a sweet and tangy dressing that tastes just like your favorite restaurant version using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk these ingredients together until combined.
  2. Slowly drizzle in the vegetable oil while continuously whisking. This emulsifies the dressing.
  3. Add the water and whisk again until the dressing is smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Taste the dressing and adjust salt or pepper if needed.
  5. Transfer the dressing to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use. Shake well before serving.

Notes

  • This dressing thickens when cold. Allow it to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving if it has been refrigerated for several hours.
  • For a slightly different flavor, substitute honey for the maple syrup.
  • This dressing works well as a marinade for chicken or pork.
