Make a rich, creamy dip sauce at home that tastes just like the popular garlic parmesan sauce served with pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about one minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  3. Reduce the heat to low. Whisk in the heavy cream and mayonnaise until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve warm with pizza crusts or breadsticks.

Notes

  • For a thinner sauce, add one tablespoon of milk or water while stirring off the heat.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • You can substitute salted butter, but reduce the added salt in the recipe.
