Ingredients
Scale
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
3 drops green food coloring (or more, to reach desired color)
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (for topping)
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for topping)
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract (for topping)
1 drop green food coloring (for topping)
Instructions
Chill your serving glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before starting.
Combine the vanilla ice cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and green food coloring in a blender.
Blend on low speed initially, then increase to high until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
Taste the shake and add more green coloring if you want a deeper color, then blend briefly again.
Pour the milkshake into the chilled glass.
Prepare the mint whipped cream: Pour the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and one drop of green food coloring into a clean mixing bowl.
Whip the mixture using an electric mixer or whisk until stiff peaks form.
Spoon or pipe the mint whipped cream on top of the milkshake.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For a thicker shake, use slightly less milk or add a few more scoops of ice cream.
If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, increase the peppermint extract in the shake base to 1/2 teaspoon.
Use gel food coloring instead of liquid for a more concentrated color without adding extra liquid.
