Prepare tender, sweet, and savory chicken easily using your slow cooker. This recipe uses simple ingredients for a flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (14 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken pieces in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, cranberry sauce, onion soup mix, and water until combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Shred the chicken using two forks directly in the slow cooker, or remove and shred before returning it to the sauce.
  6. Stir everything together before serving.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the cranberry sauce with orange juice.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs for extra moisture.
