1 pound pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat.
Pour the pasta mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
