- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
- Combine the peanut butter, warm water, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
- Add the minced garlic and ground ginger, if you are using them.
- Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and creamy.
- If the sauce is too thick, add water, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Pour the sauce over cooked noodles or serve immediately as a dip.
Notes
- For a thinner sauce, increase the warm water slightly. For a thicker sauce, use less water or add a bit more peanut butter.
- Add 1 teaspoon of lime juice for a brighter flavor profile.
- If you prefer a spicy sauce, mix in 1/2 teaspoon of sriracha or chili garlic sauce.
- This sauce works well with ramen, rice noodles, soba, or even spaghetti.
