  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9-inch pie plate or baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, flour, and salt.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until lightly beaten. Gradually whisk in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until smooth.
  5. Arrange the pitted cherries in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cherries.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the clafoutis is set and lightly golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
