Enjoy crispy, golden zucchini fries coated in savory garlic and Parmesan cheese. This recipe offers a delightful, healthier alternative to traditional fries, perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium zucchini
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your air fryer.
  2. Wash and trim the ends off the zucchini. Cut each zucchini into fry-like sticks.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another shallow bowl, lightly beat the egg.
  5. Dip each zucchini stick into the beaten egg, letting any excess drip off.
  6. Dredge the egg-coated zucchini stick in the Parmesan mixture, ensuring it’s well coated.
  7. Place the coated zucchini fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in your air fryer basket.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. If air frying, cook for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the fries with cooking spray before baking or air frying.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your preference. A pinch of paprika or onion powder can add a nice touch.
  • Ensure zucchini sticks are not overcrowding the baking sheet or air fryer basket for even cooking.
