Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
Toss the cut chicken pieces with the olive oil in a bowl.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, ginger, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry.
Pour the slurry into the simmering sauce, whisking until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
Return the cooked chicken bites to the skillet. Toss to coat the chicken completely in the honey garlic glaze.
Cook for 1-2 minutes more until the glaze is hot and sticky.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can bake the chicken pieces at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes before tossing them in the sauce.
Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving for color and texture.
If you prefer an air fryer method, cook the seasoned chicken pieces at 380°F (195°C) for 10-12 minutes, then toss with the prepared sauce.
