Make this rich, creamy, and cheesy hot crab dip featuring lump crab meat. It is a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for parties or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie plate or small baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are fully combined and creamy.
  4. Gently fold in the lump crab meat. Be careful not to break up the lumps too much.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the top is lightly golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Serve immediately with sturdy crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetable sticks.
  • You can prepare the dip mixture up to 24 hours in advance; cover and refrigerate, then bake when ready to serve.
  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the cheddar cheese with Gruyère.
