Make quick, salty-sweet pretzel clusters using only melted chocolate and pretzels. This recipe requires no oven time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
  • 2 cups small pretzel twists or sticks, broken into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until completely smooth. This usually takes 60 to 90 seconds total.
  4. Add the broken pretzel pieces to the melted chocolate. Stir gently until the pretzels are fully coated.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small clusters.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the tops of the clusters with flaky sea salt.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  8. Serve the clusters once set.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can mix in 1/4 cup of chopped nuts or mini marshmallows with the pretzels before coating.
  • If you do not have a microwave, melt the chocolate using a double boiler method on the stovetop.
  • Store the finished clusters in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
