Ingredients
Scale
6 cups cranberry juice cocktail
3 cups orange juice, chilled
2 liters ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, chilled
1 cup orange slices, thin
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
4 cinnamon sticks
Ice ring or cubes
Instructions
In a large punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice and orange juice. Stir well.
Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled ginger ale or soda. Stir gently to mix without losing carbonation.
Add the orange slices and fresh or frozen cranberries to the punch.
Place the cinnamon sticks into the punch bowl or use them as garnish on serving glasses.
Add a large ice ring or ice cubes to keep the punch cold. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a make-ahead option, mix the juices only and refrigerate. Add the soda just before guests arrive.
To create an ice ring, freeze water with a few orange slices and cranberries in a bundt pan.
For extra spice flavor, simmer 1 cup of cranberry juice with 2 cinnamon sticks and 1 star anise for 10 minutes, then chill this mixture before adding it to the punch.
