- 4 (5 ounce) tilapia fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry using paper towels. Brush both sides of each fillet lightly with olive oil.
- In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, parsley, pepper, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients well.
- Dredge each oiled tilapia fillet into the Parmesan mixture, pressing gently on both sides to make the crust adhere firmly.
- Place the coated fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque throughout and the crust is golden brown and crisp.
- Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.
Notes
- For an extra crispy crust, you can briefly broil the fish for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- You can substitute panko breadcrumbs for standard breadcrumbs for a lighter texture.
- If you prefer an air fryer, cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes.
