Make crispy, flavorful chicken thighs quickly using your air fryer with this spicy honey garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten free)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps them crisp up.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sriracha. Set aside half of this mixture for glazing later.
  3. In a separate bowl, toss the chicken thighs with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper until coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes.
  7. Flip the chicken thighs. Brush the tops lightly with half of the reserved sauce mixture.
  8. Continue to air fry for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Cooking time depends on thickness.
  9. Remove the chicken from the air fryer. Brush with the remaining sauce mixture immediately. The residual heat will thicken the glaze.
  10. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra sticky glaze, you can simmer the unused half of the sauce mixture on the stovetop until it thickens slightly before brushing it on the cooked chicken.
  • If you prefer bone-in, skin-on thighs, increase the initial cooking time by 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Use tamari instead of soy sauce if you need a gluten free option.
