Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon brown sugar (for glaze effect)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, pepper, and brown sugar. This creates your seasoning butter.
Spoon or brush the seasoning butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Make sure the seasoning adheres well.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra moisture, you can place thin slices of lemon on top of the seasoned salmon before baking.
If you prefer a slightly sweeter glaze, increase the brown sugar to 1 1/2 teaspoons.
Cooking time varies; aim for an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
