Make this easy, homemade pull apart bread loaded with garlic butter and melted cheese for a savory appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf (16 ounce) frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. If using frozen dough, let it thaw completely according to package directions. Cut the dough into 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes into a large bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over the dough cubes. Toss gently until all pieces are coated.
  5. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and half of the cheddar cheese over the dough cubes. Toss lightly to distribute the cheese.
  6. Transfer the coated dough cubes into the prepared loaf pan, packing them loosely.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top layer of dough cubes.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover it with foil for the last 10 minutes.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes before serving warm. Pull the pieces apart to serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use fresh herbs instead of dried Italian seasoning.
  • You can substitute Gruyère or Monterey Jack cheese for part of the mozzarella.
  • If you want a crispier crust, bake on a baking sheet instead of a loaf pan.
